Bringing College Football Energy to Life for Dr Pepper

Dr Pepper is one of America’s most iconic beverage brands and a longtime supporter of college football culture. Through its NIL partnerships, the brand spotlights emerging collegiate athletes to connect authentically with local fans and drive regional engagement during the NCAA season.
Objective
Create photo and video content for Dr Pepper’s 2025 College Football NIL program that captured the excitement of the sport and extended the “It’s a Pepper Thing” campaign across social media and retail displays in Colorado.
Strategy
Cary & Co. partnered with Dr Pepper and the agencies VaynerSports and We Are Alexander to produce a fast-turn, high-impact shoot with collegiate athletes Omarion Miller (University of Colorado) and Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi (Colorado State University).

Capturing College Football Energy

In partnership with Dr Pepper’s creative and activation agencies, Cary & Co. produced a full day of shoots for each athlete — one in Boulder and another in Fort Collins. The production focused on creating versatile content that could serve multiple campaign channels, including short-form social, digital advertising, and retail displays in 7-Eleven and King Soopers stores.

Cary & Co. handled cinematography, lighting, and still photography for both sessions. Working within Dr Pepper’s creative templates, the team produced six vertical Instagram Reels (three per athlete) that balanced brand polish with personality — featuring short challenges, fan shoutouts, and playful “Crack It Like…” moments designed to capture the lighthearted spirit of the brand.

Studio Photography for Retail Activation

Alongside the video work, Cary & Co. photographed each athlete against a seamless white backdrop for use in point-of-sale signage and digital collateral. The clean, high-key lighting ensured easy cutouts for large-format printing and compositing across regional retail displays.

These photos became the hero visuals for Dr Pepper’s in-store promotions — giving fans an immediate, local connection to their favorite college players while maintaining a cohesive brand aesthetic.

Production Efficiency and Creative Consistency

With a total turnaround of just three weeks, the project demonstrated Cary & Co.’s ability to deliver national-brand quality under tight timelines. The production workflow emphasized consistency between locations — identical lighting setups, lensing, and framing ensured a unified look across both athletes’ campaigns.

Cary & Co. also edited all six Reels, optimizing pacing and color for social performance while delivering photo assets formatted for We Are Alexander’s postproduction and retail teams.

Authenticity Meets Brand Energy

Although the production was studio-based, the creative captured the authenticity of each athlete’s personality — a nod to Dr Pepper’s long-standing relationship with college football fandom. The final content blended clean, brand-safe visuals with genuine enthusiasm, bringing the energy of game day into fans’ everyday spaces.
